Basket of Fruits series, Digital Chromogenic print, 18x24, 25x25 in. 2021
Basket of Fruits 2021 series is a new visual language of art, combining modern technology and traditional art.
This photography series started as a reinterpretation of the famous old master paintings. In 1599, Caravaggio painted a Basket of Fruits representing the theme of revolving about the fading beauty and the natural decaying of all things. From mimicking masterpieces, I wanted to explore the decay, evolution, and excavation of the forms in every possible way; how the original form of the painted fruits got lost within the forms and colors to create abstract forms. Moreover, I wanted to document the progression of its decay, evolution, excavation of the forms to create the story of their progression. I focused on the shape of the fruits and the silhouettes and form of the fruit in the beginning. It goes even further into abstract as I focused on the fundamental colors of the fruit. Finally, I completely deconstructed the form and colors to show the mortality of the fruit and made it completely abstract.
